Domestic Dreamland

I'm having house envy today after seeing this kitchen. With a place for everything, this cream and black kitchen is the stuff of dreams {if you are an obsessor of all things kitchen like me}.  The colors used in this kitchen work really well for showcasing the food.

I love how elegant everything looks just by putting things on display.

Currently on My Desk

I am currently working on a kitchen design for an Indianapolis couple that just purchased a historic fixer-upper.  I wanted to give them some options to look at, but also I wanted to show how easy it can be to change the feel of a space with cosmetic changes. The couple I am working with is young and fun and wanted a kitchen to suit. The first is an updated look maintaining the traditional feel of the home, the second one is more modern with the finishes, keeping the overall look more what they had in mind. I rendered the third option just for you readers to show how simple cosmetic changes can completely transform a space.

Pinterest Round-Up

I have been a pinning machine lately {no need for the creative juices I've been lacking}. D and I like driving around picking out our dream home and its only natural that I have been decorating it in my mind. Lets start with the kitchen. After my internship with the kitchen design firm, I have been exposed to just about every style, taste and interest. But when it comes to my own kitchen style, I gravitate to clean, simple and white. There is something about the freshness that I love.

One Kitchen 3 Ways

Time for yet another kitchen rendering. For work I am working on a project, for the seminars we are putting on soon, called one kitchen 3 ways. It is designed to show a full kitchen renovation on a 3 budgets. The first and second option are the same rendering the only difference being the appliances, granite, and a backsplash. The third option is a full custom option with the upgrades to match. The totals range from $17,500 to $58,000.

Room of the Week

I saw this kitchen on COCOCOZY and had to post it. I would move in in an instant, and not just because of the the kitchen, the whole place is super cool don't you think? I know I have been doing a lot of kitchens lately, but what can I say I work for a kitchen and bath design company.

Rendering

 So while I am working at Indiana Kitchen Company, my Mom and Dad decided to redo their kitchen. Their cabinets are in good shape so they are just having them painted. I came up with a budget friendly plan that would significantly update what they have now. I did two renderings to show them how the kitchen would look with the changes they are making. I think it will look very nice.

First week over... New week started

OK, I started my second week of intern-shipping,  I officially love it there. I am at Indiana Kitchen Company and it has the nicest people. I started doing the blog for their websight and it should go live sometime this week! I get to be creative and I think they like the help. I cant weight to see how it goes.

Rendering 2 More Options

Option 1:

This one is similar to the first one I did but I changed the floor, cabinet molding, counter top, and back splash. The colors are mostly the same, but there is some added contrast.

Option 2:

I did a reverse of the colors in option 1. I went with a light tile floor, dark cabinets and a lighter counter top. The back splash is the same, the fixtures are the same, and so is the wall color.

This is a slightly spruced up version of my kitchen. I didn't change much but it looks a lot better.
