I started a new blog
I have been in a blogging rut for a while now and need some motivation. Derrick and I bought a house and I am documenting the DIY of it all. Join me as we go room by room at a boy, a girl, and a house!

R H
Im loving the look at Restoration Hardware right now. I tore through all of the 2015 catalogs now on their app. The light almost coastal vibe of some of their collections is really appealing right now [need a vacation much]. I always love the store so any new lines are good with me!

Spring Printable
I found these super cute spring printables that I wanted to share with everyone. I was looking for something to spring up my kitchen and entryway with and these will do the trick perfectly. Question is, which one do I want to use they are all so cute.

WEDDING DIY
I discovered Gartner Studios this week and I feel like I hit the jackpot. The wedding invitations are so cute and there are a bunch of options. The invitations I chose to go with for my wedding were found at Michaels as part of the Brides collection. The website is user friendly with instructions on the box for customizing their templets for printing at home. So far I have been super happy with them.

Bragging
I hate to do this, but I think its time to do a little cat bragging. Derrick and I have two VERY cute and cuddly cats that I like to think are the only cats on the planet that like as much attention as they do [I'm sure every one thinks their pets are the best ever]. They keep us on our toes and entertained for hours.
A Little Wedding Inspiration
With six months to go before the big day, I thought I would put together
a little collage of inspiration. My colors of choice for my wedding were black
and white with accents of navy blue and green. It is an outside reception with
twinkly lights and I am going for understated elegance. It is nothing too fancy
because I want every one to just have fun. We are building a big paper moon
photo booth that I am so excited about. The wedding is taking place at an old victorian
home now used as event space. I have always loved the idea of a swanky back
yard wedding and now I get one!

Architectural Digest: Patrick Dempsey
I am loving the casual lived in styling of Patrick Dempsey's family home in Malibu, complete with recycled wood chicken coup. The home is a Frank Gehry architectural gem from the late 1960's. Hidden behind olive trees the unassuming exterior hides a treasure trove.

Getaway : Lake Front
Derrick and I went to on a weekend getaway to lake Michigan a few weeks ago. The scenery was just beautiful and we had a fantastic time relaxing and wandering around the little towns and visiting several of the lighthouses. I thought I would share some of the photos.
Happy Monday all!
Elements of Style
My inspiration can come from anywhere however now-a-days Pinterest gets a lot of my attention (guilty pleasure). I love the idea of a neutral color pallet with a lot of texture. Fresh flowers never hurt either.

Dreamy Neutrals
A little Pinterest inspiration:
There is something so good about a little tone on tone neutral with texture. It will never be wrong. It makes for the perfect seasonal backdrop if you like to change things up like I do.

My Current Obsession:
Restoration Hardware relatively recently updated their location by us here in Indianapolis and ever sense I just can't seem to get enough of the look. I am loving the layers of bedding and cozy calming colors of the store. I have copies of their catalogs everywhere. As I have been going through and updating our look here I find that I enjoy that concept more and more.

update on my life
I am so thankful to all the readers who have supported me during my blogging absence. Things around here have been hectic and crazy. Many things have happened sense my last posting like two new additions to our house hold, a crazy work schedule, and that I am getting married! I am excited to be back and I will try my best not to make this a wedding blog.
