Rendering

I did this rendering from an interior I found on Design Sponge >> sneak peeks. The original had a red wall but I was feeling the dusty plum color. I did this one on different paper than I normally do so my leather chair rendered a little funky, but it could look worse.

Im Done!!!

I had commencement today. It was long and hard, but I never have to take another class again. After an internship, I am free to start the rest of my life! That's me in the middle.

Happy Friday all

I have taken my final class ever on Thursday and graduate on Saturday. I'm excited and my boyfriend has a good lead on an internship, so things seem to be working out. This is going to be one excellent Christmas break this year. On a side note, I actually have New Years plans and must now find an appropriate outfit, maybe this one from Zara.

Holiday Rendering

I did this rendering because I was feeling the holiday spirit. I saw this cabinet when I was looking for holiday decoration ideas and I thought it was really pretty. I just added some cabinets and an island to make a festive holiday kitchen rendering. Unfortunately my pesky right hand smeared the dark black marker all over my nice cream colored wall, but I will just call it texture. I had to cut the bottom off of the rendering to fit it on my scanner, but the island has white classic style cabinets with pewter hardware. It looks amazing; just take my word for it.

    Festive Holiday Cheer

Here is some festivity for you courtesy of PotteryBarn. I have been in the holiday mood since before Thanksgiving. I am having a Christmas get together with my friends this weekend, not to the same scale as the inspiration photos. Doughnuts and gift exchange, it should be fun. I am making my gift contribution, a purple scarf. It's cute and I want it.... might have to make myself one!

    The Results

OK, I tried the recipe for the sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving and they were quite good. I adjusted the recipe slightly because my red wine vinegar had some foreign contaminants of an undisclosed variety. I used white wine vinegar instead. I did not use the entire shallot because they were all huge at the grocery. The end result turned out very well, and my family all seemed to like them so, I think I might do this one again.

    Rendering

I did this rendering in order to work on my wall covering textures. I was trying to make a linen texture, it was too heavy and my lines were too thick. I think I will try again and post the difference. Over all it could be worse, but its a place to start.

    beddybye

I found this picture on Design Sponge and loved the bed. It made me want to search for a bed like it and this is what I have found:

    The Milo canopy from EQ3
70's lucite and chrome canopy bed from 1st Dibs
I found the John Stuart bed shown in the first image on a few auction sights but they were far out of my price bracket (not that any of them are in my price bracket).

    Sweet Potatos with Goat Cheese

Thinking of food for the last few days, I have come across a recipe I am looking forward to trying.  I found the sweet potato recipe on Smitten Kitchen and plan to add it to the Thanksgiving line up.

    It takes:
1 1/2 pounds sweet potato, scrubbed, unpeeled, in 3/4- to 1-inch coins
    4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1/4 cup toasted and cooled pecan halves
2 tiny or 1 small shallot
    2 stalks celery
    2 tablespoons flat-leaf parsley
1 tablespoon dried cranberries or cherries (optional)
    2 ounces firmish goat cheese
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
    2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
    1/2 teaspoon smooth Dijon mustard

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Coat a large baking sheet generously with olive oil, about 1 to 2 tablespoons. Lay sweet potatoes in one layer on the oiled sheet. Sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Roast, without disturbing, for 15 to 20 minutes. Carefully flip each piece: the undersides should be blistery, dark and a bit puffy and should release from the pan with no effort. If they’re not, let it cook longer. Sprinkle them with additional salt and freshly ground black pepper and return the pan to the oven for another 10 minutes or so, until the undersides match the tops.

Meanwhile, prepare your salad. Chop your pecans well, mince your shallot, chop your celery and parsley, mince cranberries if using them. Crumble your goat cheese. If you, like me, got too soft of a goat cheese for mixing, set it aside and sprinkle it on top. If it’s firmer, stir it into the mixture. In a small dish, whisk together 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar and 1/2 teaspoon dijon. Pour half over salad.

When the sweet potatoes are done, scoop a spoonful of the salsa over each round. Pour remaining salad dressing over top, to taste. Eat immediately.

    Renderings

I did two more renderings today and they are not bad, if I do say so myself. The first one I did was with this damask patterned wallpaper in black and white. It was very dramatic and I may not have done it justice. I found it online and wanted to use it in a rendering. It would make for one very glamorous space.

    Ingenious

This is the most amazing thing ever. I know I know, its a bunk-bed. But they are not just measly bunk-beds, they are ingeniously mastered bunk-beds. I personally have never been a fan until now. The way they are built in and look flawless, I'm in love with this room. I found the picture on Verdigris Vie

    Ball Mansions

Through a bit of an exploratory adventure a couple of months ago I discovered the Ball Mansions that are now owned by Ball State University. They were donated to Ball State by the Ball family who, among many other things, are best known for their jars (you know ball jars) .The beautiful houses turned event space are used for events, fundraisers, conferences and other various things. I can't even imagine living in one of these gorgeous homes.

    So Fun

I saw this bed on Lushlee and thought it was too funny. I can't think of any kid that wouldn't want one of these. It comes with a bun duvet and lettuce sheet, tomato and pickle slice pillows, a cheese mattress topper and meat patty mattress. FUN!

    Lust List

This living room picnic tipi is so cute. I want one of these for a dinner date, or just to throw pillows in and make a fort.

    1010 Project

Victoria Hannan asked 10 photographers from around the world to each take 10 photos on 10-10-10, her self as well, and this was the outcome. I had this post planned for today but Joanna from A Cup of Jo beat me to it. I wasn't going to post it, but I couldn't resist, I wanted the week to end on a happy note. Enjoy
