It takes a brave soul to venture out of the safety zone when it comes to kitchen cabinets. Cabinetry can be a large expense, and for some it's too risky; but for those who are willing there are endless possibilities for color. These kitchens are not for the faint of heart, but they sure do have a wow punch.

Metallic Walls

I am loving these metallic wall treatments from Kate Spade and Martha Stewart. For a glamorous dressing room or closet, to an office or event space, this could be that punch that could take it to the next level. This look can be achievesd using Dura-Lar, a gold or silver metallic contact paper that has endless possibilities.

Closet and Casa: Chevron

The popular chevron trend is one I can get on board with this season. With fun textiles, clothing, upholstery, and much more, there are endless ways to incorporate this trend into your home and wardrobe. I especially love the necklace by Fiona Paxton and the carpet tiles by FLOR.

Today's Inspiration

Small Space Challenge

I was working on a small apartment yesterday and found it to be a challenge. It was not so much the square footage but the door placements that proved the most trouble. I think builders should work with interior designers before cutting up the space the way they often do. The floor plan is in reverse because the actual apartment is the reverse of the plan I had.
